| The
transom framing was completed in early April 2007. The boat shed is very tight
so it is hard to stand back far enough to get the big picture of the completed
framing. Here to the left is a shot from the starboard side. The purpleheart framing
looks great. Below left, there's a shot of the starboard quarter log. Mahdee has
an elliptical transom and this quarter log is an important part of completing
the ellipse. The next photo shows the framing with a pic taken from inside the
boat sitting under the charthouse. Next, we see the starboard knee. You can also
see one of our new Hackmatack (tamarack) knees in the background of this picture.
Finally, there's a shot looking down from the top of the transom to the end of
the tailfeather (countertimber). The two darker pieces of wood are legs of very
long angelique knees that sit on each side of the countertimber. |
