We had a wonderful day of sailing Stargazer today. Friend Bob came from DC and brought his daughter, Sarah, for the trip. Here she is swimming in La Playa anchorage.

Mahdee has two 170 gallon fuel tanks that reside under her cockpit seats. Here, John and David manhandle one of the old ones (its made of riveted copper) as we take it to the shop to be used as a pattern for making the new tanks.

After moving Mahdee to the SDBM yard, we also had to move the two masts. The other spars came over in another load. In this pic, you can see David in the middle standing on the mast bench next to another fellow working to move the main mast out away from the wall. It took 7 guys, an A frame (see over the truck cab), and an engine hoist to safely move the two masts from the storage area onto the truck. On the other end, because a crane and fork lift could be used, it only required 2 guys on the ground and two guys with the equipment to get the masts onto our home-built mast bench (a bunch of heavy-duty saw horses).
