Happy New Year

The New Year 2011 has been a busy one so far! I’ve just found time to make a post. And, in case you haven’t noticed, the blog has a new “look” for the new year.

Looking back on 2010, we had a wonderful year of sailing up and down the California coast.  We learned a lot about our newly launched boat and we fixed a lot of little things that “cropped up” as we sailed along.  We CAN now go more than 12 hours without something breaking!  A hurdle I thought we’d never get past.

Most important, 2010 was a year of confidence-building for us sailing Mahdee.  Now having faced a few bits of serious weather, challenging sea states, and road-stead anchoring during our voyaging in 2010, David and I now feel much more capable of handling Mahdee with just the two of us aboard.  We are thankful that each trip concluded safely throughout the year.

David and I are now excitedly looking forward to the 2011 sailing season.  In the meanwhile, we continue to do interior projects and maintenance–and dream of our next trip North.

Fair winds,

Refocus

I just read the last three posts and realized that my world seems dominated by wind-in-the-rigging-noise!  No, that’s not the case!  I just find the weather and all very interesting.  And, of course, you can’t ignore it on a boat.

Other aspects of life go along as usual–I just don’t feel the need to “share” how business is going or the sundry details of health and wellness in general.

Well, back to the regular programming of wind-in-the-rigging-noise… LOL.
