Reminders

The San Diego harbor is full of warships moving here-and-there with attendant helicopters flying overhead and security boats skippered by young navy guys barely out of high school are zipping about.  Besides being noisy, in the way, and ruining the view, it makes me reflect on all the places our military are deployed all over the world and to pray for peace and goodwill everywhere.

 

Getting Ready for a Passage

Inspecting the rigging before a lengthy trip–always a good idea. Here David is taking a look at the fittings atop the main mast–with a view of Pillar Point Harbor far below.

We should call this photograph “Self Portrait Atop the Mast.” The bronze block is for a flag–should we wish to haul a private signal on a pig-stick to the top of the mast, this would be the block which does it.
