A sunny sail by Point Conception
Unexpected shipping company between Catalina and Santa Cruz Islands. Ships are now staying out of the shipping lanes to avoid the California EPA clean-fuel requirements close in to shore. Thus, they pop up everywhere but the shipping lanes.

Good to see the Mahdee in SF. We ate dinner at a cousin’s house recently in Laguna Beach (never knew he was there till 2 weeks ago), and they had many old scrap books of my grandfather’s including various Mahdee photos. Another cousin told me she has the original newspaper clipping of the christening and launch… somewhere.
